We had the great fortune of finding Ben French of Yards Landscaping about three years ago. He designed and created our most fabulous garden in Manly near Brisbane in our newly acquired house and has been responsible for the maintenance ever since, winning awards for it on the way. After many failed attempts at having our garden revamped, often by groups or individuals selected on price alone, we found Ben and his company, Yards. Ben provided his assessment in a highly professional manner with reasons behind his choices of plants, type and scope of maintenance and a detailed quote. The garden looks amazing, the plants selected for planting have grown exactly as predicted creating a haven of different shades of greens and flowering plants. Maintenance is always preceded by a summary of what will be needed and conducted. Ben’s team is highly professional, demonstrates a great knowledge of horticulture and works tirelessly. There is a cost associated with the result, but it is worth it. We are pleased to provide an excellent rating for Yards.

I've been very impressed with Ben and Yards. They were initially recommended by a friend and I asked for an opinion. I have to admit that the initial quote was a lot more than I expected, but then I've never had my garden landscaped before so didn't really know what was the norm. What I will say is that if you want a quick superficial overlay of compost and a few plants then they're not for you. But what I hadn't really thought about until I saw their work was that they're not about a quick short-term pretty look, they're more about re-designing your garden for the long term. There was a lot of soil and rubbish removal - down to the bare bones of the old garden. After that there was soil, mulch, plants, turf, irrigation, borders and electrics (including lighting and watering systems), gravelling and a concrete edging. Much more involved and comprehensive than I expected, and left a beautiful result. A nice touch was the hedge trimming and power washing of the drive that hadn't been included, and the unexpectedly thorough follow-up; Ben is obviously passionate about what he does and wants to make sure it works, rather than signing off once the job is done. Happy to recommend, and would use again.

Recently purchased a property that Ben and the crew from Yards currently serviced, not only did Ben find time to do a house visit and explain all the features of the garden/ Irrigation system/ garden lights (didn't even know where there) and to explain and recommend what needed to be done to maintenance wise also offered his expertise to ANY issue/s and questions I threw at him from types of plants to lawn care and preventative measures to ensure my garden was well kept... listened to what I wanted done and even recommended plumbers etc. and we went from there..
